Director Agri visits Multiplication Farm Padgampora

Distributes masks, gloves and other safety gear among labours,  employees
SINAGAR-  Director Agriculture, Kashmir, Altaf Aijaz Andrabi, today visited Seed Multiplication Farm, Padgampora to inspect ongoing Agriculture operations, there.
Joint Director Agriculture, Inputs, Chowdhary Mohammad Iqbal and other concerned officers accompanied the Director.
Andrabi urged the employees and labours working in the farm to follow precautions and other standard safety measures including social distancing issued by various health organisations while performing the agricultural activities in the farm.  He directed the Manager, S.M.Farm Padgampora to ensure that only healthy persons are engaged in the farm activities and to make reasonable enquiry about the health of the persons working there, to avoid the entry of any suspect or likely carrier. He also directed the persons engaged in field operations to wear masks and ensure hand washing with soap at reasonable intervals and directed the farm staff to maintain safe distance of 3-4 feet during rest, while taking of meals or while transfer of produce at collecting point, loading or unloading.
 Earlier, Director distributed masks, gloves and other safety gear among the labours and employees working in the farm and had a brief interactive session with them educating them  regarding standard safety measures, social distancing  during Covid 19.
The Director was briefed by Manager Seed Multiplication Farm Padgampora, Sartaj Ahmad regarding  various developmental activities and latest technological initiatives taken up to boost the quality seed production at the farm.
Pertinent to mention that the Seed Multiplication Farm at Padgampora is one of the biggest Farm having 7 thousand kanals of cultivable land and the seeds including Paddy, Maize, and Oilseeds are multiplied on modern scientific lines in the farm.
