·        Civil Hospital, Bathinda to get 200 more kits in next 3 days, says Finance Minister

Chandigarh-           Keeping his words to providing Personal Protection Equipment (PPE) kits to the medical staff, Punjab Finance Minister Mr. Manpreet Singh Badal on Wednesday handed over 50 PPE kits to Civil Hospital, Bathinda. Notably, Mr. Badal on Monday had promised to provide PPE kits within a week but he made it available in just 48 hours. However, he also assured that 200 more kits will be supplied to the civil hospital in next three days.

          Stressing on providing every necessary safety gears to the medics fighting against COVID-19, Mr. Manpreet Singh Badal said that Punjab Government was fully committed to extend every possible help to the front line warriors battling against this deadly pandemic.

          Thanking the Indian Medical Association for providing these kits, the Finance Minister said that a stock of more than 200 PPE kits was already available in the civil hospital, but these kits were being provided as per the demand of the medical staff.

          He said that the supply of essential commodities such as ration, milk, fruits, vegetables, medicines was going smoothly in the state and Punjab Chief Minister Captain Amarinder Singh personally overseeing the relief works and situation.

          President of the Indian Medical Association (IMO) Dr. Navjot Singh Dahiya said that the IMO is continuously working with the state government in this difficult time and these PPE kits have been provided with the help of the Khalsa Aid.

All set for smooth procurement of wheat: Finance Minister

          Responding to a question on wheat procurement arrangements in the state, Finance Minister said that all the arrangements have been made for smooth procurement and the state government would purchase every grain of the wheat. He said that Punjab government is fully geared up for the wheat procurement season starting from April 15 and Punjab Mandi Board and Government Procurement Agencies have already been instructed to make all necessary arrangements in this regard well in time, he added.
