Local Status to Employees in AP

 
 

Government of Andhra Pradesh forwarded a proposal to the Government of India for amendment in the Andhra Pradesh Educational Institutions (Regulation of Admissions) Order, 1974 and the Andhra Pradesh  Public Employment (Organisation of Local Cadres and Regulation of Direct Recruitment) Order, 1975 to facilitate the people who opt and shift, for educational and employment purpose, to Andhra Pradesh from Telangana before 2nd June, 2017, to avail the local status in Andhra Pradesh. The Ministry of Home Affairs vide Notification No, G.S.R. No. 590(E) & 591(E), both dated 09.06.2016 amended the Andhra Pradesh Educational Institutions (Regulation of Admissions) Order, 1974 and the Andhra Pradesh Public Employment (Organisation of Local Cadres and Regulation of Direct Recruitment) Order, 1975 respectively, for providing local status to the candidates who migrate to any part of the State of Andhra Pradesh from the State of Telangana within a period of three years from the 2nd day of June, 2014, for the purpose of education and employment. Further, at the request of Government of Andhra Pradesh, this time limit of three years has been extended for two more years i.e. from 01.06.2017 to 01.06.2019 vide Notifications No. GSR No. 1350 (E) & 1351(E) issued on 30.10.2017.

 

This was stated by the Minister of State for Home Affairs, Shri Hansraj Gangaram Ahir in a written reply to question in the Lok Sabha today.
