Owing to the effective steps initiated by the District Administration, the issues pertaining to the supply of medicines from Zirakpur to the entire State of Punjab stood resolved after a meeting between the Carrying and Forward Association, Zirakpur and the transporters here.

The meeting facilitated by the District Administration saw both the parties discussing their issues. The Carrying and Forward Association represented by its President Amit Jain said that they operate more than about 150 godowns (From Zirakpur) of leading pharma companies such as Sun Pharma, Cadilla Pharma, Dr. Reddy's, Glaxo and many more. They supply medicines to Punjab, Haryana and Himachal Pradesh. But, are facing issues regarding transportation.

The transporters on the other hand said that after the curfew they are facing some difficulties related to movement of transport vehicles. The issue was brought to the notice of the Deputy Commissioner Mr. Girish Dayalan and on his directions, vehicle passes were issued by the Regional Transport Authority Mr. Sukhwinder Kumar.
